Goal and Vision
Our goal is to promote the interest and involvement in hunter and pony breeding throughout Florida. By creating a quality awards program for USEF rated Hunter and Pony Breeding horse shows in Florida we will increase awareness and participation in the sport. Awarding breeders in Florida for their efforts will encourage quality American bred hunters and the sport of Hunter Breeding. This awards program will increase hunter breeding awareness and education.
Our Vision is to gain involvement in USEF Hunter and Pony Breeding horseshows in FL. Our awards program is open to any individual horses showing at USEF rated horseshows in FL who are affiliate members of The Barrington Hill Young Horse Championships.
The horses/ponies and horseshows which have become affiliate members will be listed on the Barrington Hill website. Barrington Hill USEF Hunter Breeding shows count towards the year end awards. For points to count individual horses must become a member of The Barrington Hill Young Horse Championships.
Horses/Ponies may be Yearlings, Two Year Olds, or Three Year Olds. USEF rated horseshows may become affiliate members by paying a yearly membership fee. Each horseshow that organization has with hunter breeding classes will count towards The BH Young Horse Championships ~ as long as the horseshow sends in results and stays in good standing. We will count all a horseshow organizations points in 2008 if they join before July 1st of 2008.
At the end of the year (November 30th) we will have an awards ceremony. The following year end awards will be given to:
- Hunter Yearling – Ribbon, Trophy
- Hunter Two Year Old – Ribbon, Trophy
- Hunter Three Year Old – Ribbon, Trophy
- Best Young Horse – Ribbon + Cooler
- Pony Hunter Yearling – Ribbon, Trophy
- Pony Hunter Two Year Old – Ribbon, Trophy
- Pony Hunter Three Year Old – Ribbon, Trophy
- Best Young Pony – Ribbon + Cooler
The year end awards will be given the last weekend of November or in December at Barrington Hill in Dade City, FL.
Rules and Regulations
- Horses/Ponies must be in good standing with the USEF.
- Individual Horse Membership dues must be paid before or during the show for points to count.
- Points will count at all USEF Barrington Hill Hunter Breeding shows and any affiliate horseshow organization in good standing with the USEF in the state of FL.
- Points will be given from January 1st to November 30th of each year. For USEF hunter and pony rules look on the downloads page under USEF hunter and Pony Breeding Rules.
